The second issue of the International Journal of High-Rise Buildings (IJHRB), focusing on pure research contents and investigations in tall building design is now delivered to you. The IJHRB is intended to serve as an essential complement to the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) Journal, added to the Council¡¯s substantial body of work already. This issue is specialized in planning and environmental engineering of high rise buildings. Tall buildings should be good measures for developing the sustainable world in the future. While widely spread cities will have greater environmental loads than compact cities with tall buildings. They require less urbaninfrastructures and less energy for inner city transportation. However, tall buildings mean more dense lives in buildings and will lead to the complex problems of the building environmental engineering and planning. This issue focuses on some of those problems and also the corresponding measures to be useful for the resolutions. There will be no end for the exploring such studies.
